The Association of Brass Band Adjudicators (AoBBA) offers their congratulations to Adam Whittle on his appointment as secretary of the Leicestershire Brass Band Association (LBBA). Adam is a well-known and successful conductor currently with the Rockingham Band and has extensive experience in contest administration through his work at the Butlins Mineworkers Contest and the Yorkshire and Humberside Contest.
All our members of the Association of Brass Band Adjudicators are acutely aware of the responsibilities of contest organisers and their hardworking team of volunteers and we pay tribute to all who work tirelessly to make each contest a success and make the role of the adjudicator so much easier, the role of secretary being paramount.
AoBBA would also like to give a big vote of thanks to Lesley Bentley, the outgoing secretary, who our adjudicator members have enjoyed an excellent working relationship with for many years. However, we now look forward to our continued partnership with LBBA and their new secretary Adam Whittle.
Adam stated: “I am honoured to have been elected as Secretary of the LBBA, following the resignation of Lesley Bentley. For many years I have admired this Association for its success and dedication to the movement. This success has only been possible with Lesley’s hard work supported by a strong ad experienced committee. Whilst I have giant shoes to fill, I look forward to working for our member bands with hope that I may be as successful as my predecessor.”
The AoBBA wishes Adam and the LBBA every success in the future.
