AoBBA Welcome Dr. Joel Collier
The Association of Brass Band Adjudicators (AoBBA) has announced Dr. Joel Collier as joining its successful trainee programme.
Joel brings with him a wealth of experience as a performer, composer, conductor and educator, studying for both his Masters and Doctorate in Euphonium Performance, Pedagogy and Literature at James Madison University in the USA. As a composer, his works have been performed and recorded by bands in North America, Europe and Australia – most notably by the New York Staff Band and International Staff Band. Joel is currently Solo Baritone with Cory Band in South Wales, as well as a Besson Performance Artist.
Joel commented: “I’m thrilled to be joining AoBBA and am excited for the opportunity to work alongside so many excellent adjudicators in the organisation. I intend to take this opportunity to soak up as much expertise as I can to develop my skills as a band adjudicator.”
Head of AoBBA’s Trainee Programme, Martin Heartfield, added: “Following a number of high quality applications, I am delighted that Joel has been offered a place on our Trainee Adjudicator Scheme following the recent meeting of the Executive Committee. We are all looking forward to working closely with Joel in the future.”
