AoBBA Welcomes Craig Ratcliffe

The Association of Brass Band Adjudicators (AoBBA) is delighted to announce Craig Ratcliffe has successfully completed its development programme and become a full member.
An alumus of the University of Huddersfield, Craig is a conductor, teacher and educator. As Director of Music at St. John Fisher Catholic High School, he established the Brass Brigade – a multi-partner community youth music initiative that provides brass instrumental instruction to over three hundred young individuals annually.
As a conductor, he has directed ensembles across all levels of the brass band and youth music making pyramid with his groups consistently competing at the highest levels, culminating in performances at the Royal Albert Hall and Symphony Hall, alongside multiple appearances at the National Finals. Craig is a seasoned menor, orator and examiner for Music and Music Technology at both GCSE and A Level, as well as being a trustee for both Harrogate International Festivals and the National Youth Brass Band of Great Britain.
Having spent the last two years on AoBBA’s trainee programme, Craig commented: “I’m delighted to have completed the development scheme with AoBBA and enjoyed every moment of the process. The training provided an exceptional platform to collaborate with and gain experience from some of the most respected musical minds in the banding community. I’m really looking forward to using this acquired knowledge to support and give something back to the movement in the forthcoming years.”
Head of AoBBA’s Development Programme, Martin Heartfield, added: “Craig has excelled on the development programme and his completion of it signals a welcome addition to the Association whom we all look forward to working with in the coming years as we continue to encourage and develop the next generation of adjudicators.”
