Steven Mead Joins AoBBA

The Association of Brass Band Adjudicators (AoBBA) are delighted to announce Steven Mead as a full member.
As a euphonium soloist, Steven’s career as a professional solo performer continues to break new ground with over 75 solo performances a year following on from the successes he achieved as a member of several of the UK’s leading brass bands. He is also well known and respected by his high profile work in brass pedagogy. He is the Professor of Euphonium the Royal Northern College of Music and also at teaches at several specialist schools across Europe and in Japan. He was given the award of Fellow of the RNCM.
As well as his pioneering work in performing and education, Steven brings a wealth of experience as an adjudicator, having adjudicated National Championships in Australia, Belgium, Netherlands, Norway, Sweden and North America, as well as at the British Open, Spring Festival, Regional Championships, National Youth Championships and European Youth Championships.
Speaking of his new affiliation, Steven commented: “I am very pleased to have joined the Association of Brass Band Adjudicators. For many years I have held this Association in high regard and now to be on the ‘inside’ as it were, gives me a great sense of pride. I hope to be able to contribute positive suggestions and ideas going forward”.
