The Association of Brass Band Adjudicators (AoBBA) is delighted to announce Daniel Brooks has successfully completed its development programme and become a full member.

A trombonist, conductor and educator, Danny played Solo Trombone with some of the UK’s best brass bands, including Brighouse & Rastrick, Leyland and YBS.  More recently, Danny has gained great acclaim as a conductor, directing Elland Silver for 11 years during which time they rose from the Second to the Championship Section and now as Musical Director with Leyland Band. Additionally, Danny founded the Red Admiral Music Academy in 2014 which continues to flourish with hundreds of young players having benefited directly from the Academy.

Having spent the last 18 months on AoBBA’s development programme, Daniel commented: “I am very much looking forward to representing the Association of Brass Band Adjudicators as I continue to develop as an adjudicator. Alongside my ongoing role conducting Leyland Band, I will strive to improve the quality, enjoyment, and integrity of our incredible brass band community and look forward to working alongside some world-class musicians and adjudicators.”

Public Relations Officer, Christopher Bond, added: “Daniel’s completion of the development programme is another terrific example of how we continually strive to move forwards as an Association, attracting musicians of the highest quality to add to our roster of adjudicators who represent AoBBA at contests in the UK and internationally.”
