Daniel Brooks is an acclaimed conductor, adjudicator and musical director, currently serving as MD of the prestigious Leyland Band, one of the UK’s elite brass bands. Since taking up the position in December 2023, he has led the ensemble with a clear artistic vision, combining musical excellence, and innovative programming.

Before joining Leyland, Daniel spent eleven transformative years as conductor of the renowned Elland Silver Band. Under his leadership, Elland rose through the competitive sections, establishing themselves as strong contenders among Yorkshire’s top-tier bands. His tenure is widely recognised for its sustained competitive success, high musical standards, and exceptional player development.

Alongside his conducting career, Daniel is an accomplished trombonist. He previously held the solo trombone seat with several of the UK’s most respected brass bands, including YBS Band, Brighouse and Rastrick Band and his current ensemble, offering him a deep performance insight that shapes his work on the podium.

Daniel holds both a Bachelor’s degree and a Master’s degree (with distinction) in Music Performance, underpinning his artistic approach with strong academic and professional foundations.

A passionate advocate for education, Daniel founded Red Admiral Music Academy, where he has helped nurture hundreds of young musicians, providing high-quality tuition and an inspiring pathway into ensemble playing.

Beyond his musical pursuits, Daniel is a director and owner of the successful leisure business Adrenaline Escape and manages several additional ventures across the North West. His entrepreneurial mindset complements his artistic work, bringing leadership, strategic thinking, and creativity to everything he undertakes.
