We are delighted that four budding adjudicators; Matthew Currie and Dubrusia Mazur from Elland Band, Leah Wimpenny from Huddersfield and Adam Warburton from Wardle, were able to hone their skills at the recent Yorkshire Regional competition. AoBBA Training Officer Martin Heartfield had been working with the four prior to the competition on Kit Turnbull’s work, The Golden Sabre.
“This wonderful initiative, now in its third year, continues to provide an ideal opportunity for young musicians to understand the challenges involved in making an informed adjudication decision at a brass band contest.
Our thanks go to Robert Turnbull and the Yorkshire Regional Committee for hosting us and to the contest judges David Hirst and Sarah Groarke Booth, who took time to meet and explain the adjudication process to the young adjudicators. The participants had a great time and were in total agreement with David and Sarah about the final placings!”
