PhD (DMA) in Performance from the University of Salford, ARCM, PGCE.

Brett Baker is viewed internationally as a leading performer and educator. He is passionate about encouraging composers to write pioneering new repertoire and is one of the most recorded brass soloists.
Brett was Programme Leader of the Musical Arts Degree (Band Musicianship) at the University of Salford for seven years and is now Sales Director and Global Artist Liaison for Denis Wick & Alliance Products. He continues to be an Artist for Michael Rath Brass Instruments and is a former long serving Principal Trombone of the Black Dyke Band. As a Musical Director, he now conducts the Elland Silver Band and Poulton-Le-Fylde brass band.
He is a Past Chair and Past President of the British Trombone Society and increasingly works as a conductor and adjudicator in festivals and band competitions. As an adjudicator Brett has judged brass band competitions including the UK National Finals, Spring Festival and the regional area competitions. Outside the UK he has adjudicated national festivals and competitions in the USA, South America, most of Europe, Australia and New Zealand. Brett is currently Chair of the Association of Brass Band Adjudicators.
