Craig is a highly accomplished conductor, teacher, and educator based in the North of England. An alumnus of the University of Huddersfield, he specialized in performance and conducting under the tutelage of David Thornton and Philip McCann. Upon graduation, he was honoured with the John Bryan Music Award. During his postgraduate studies for a PGCE at Huddersfield, Craig assumed the role of Musical Director for the Tewit Youth Band, significantly expanding its membership to encompass well over 100 young musicians.

Possessing extensive experience across the wide landscape of the musical world, Craig is a committed advocate for youth music-making and the cultivation of inclusive opportunities for all. As Director of Music at St. John Fisher Catholic High School, he established the Brass Brigade, a multi-partner community youth music initiative that provides brass instrumental instruction to over 300 young individuals annually. He is equally at home MD’ing in a theatre, leading large scale choral works or delivering on creative arts projects.

Within the brass band community, Craig has performed on euphonium and trombone for numerous successful bands throughout the Yorkshire region. As a conductor, he has directed ensembles across all levels of the banding and youth music making pyramid. His groups have consistently competed at the highest levels, culminating in performances at venues such as the Royal Albert Hall and Symphony Hall, alongside multiple appearances at the National Finals.

Currently serving as Musical Director for The Harrogate Band and Wetherby Silver Band, Craig is a seasoned mentor, orator, and examiner for Music and Music Technology at both GCSE and A Level. In his spare time he is a trustee for Harrogate International Festivals, recognised as the largest arts festival in the North of England, and for the National Youth Brass Bands of Great Britain.
